Dobby was a house elf who once served the Malfoy family. He was set free by Harry Potter in Chamber of Secrets when Harry tricked Lucius Malfoy into giving Dobby a sock. In the movie Dobby finds the sock within Tom Riddle's diary. In the book, Lucius tosses the sock and Dobby catches it. After that, he became a loyal friend to Harry Potter and his friends. Socks become one of his most prized posessions. In Deathly Hallows, he saves Harry and his friends' lives by saving them from Malfoy Manor. He is unfortunately killed by Bellatrix Lestrange. His last words spoken are "Such a beautiful place it is, to be with friends. Dobby is happy to be with his friend, Harry Potter." He was then buried under a marker stating "Here lies Dobby, a free elf." Dobby appears in only two movies - Chamber of Secrets and Deathly Hallows (Part 1). He however appears in all the books except for book 1. Dobby has come to save Harry Potter, of course. Dobby will always be there for Harry Potter. |
